I am Josh Wood and I’m based in the stunning region of Dumfries and Galloway. I am happy to travel to deliver training throughout Scotland - it is a beautiful place after all.
I am hugely passionate about the benefits that cycling more as part of our daily life can bring - mental wellbeing, physical health, environmental and financial. I believe that access to high quality cycle training and advice and guidance on holiday inspiration should be affordable based on people’s circumstances. I have worked in the active travel sector for nearly a decade now and ride my bike as much as possible for everyday journeys.
Qualified as a Cycling Scotland Tutor, Quality Assurance Associate and Mentor as well as having a 1st4Sport Level 2 certificate in Instructing Cycle Training, I have a huge wealth of experience in helping all ages and all stages cycle more as part of their day to day life. I have worked extensively in schools delivering the on-road schools cycling programme (Bikeability) and have worked in Scotland for both Cycling Scotland and Cycling UK. In this time I have helped to develop and deliver a range of cycle training programmes as well as co-ordinating the Play on Pedals project as well and managing the Bothy project.
Cycle touring and bikepacking is my favourite way to holiday - it’s a fun, cheap and easy way to immerse yourself in stunning scenery.
My partner, Katie, is a qualified Cycle Trainer and is able to run female specific adult cycle training sessions if preferred.
I am very used to running public facing community walking, cycling and wheeling projects and have a background in academic research which I use to assist with evaluation of active travel projects.
